We know that menstrual equity is a fundamental issue of economic and social justice. That’s why we’re proud to have already distributed 2,000+ sustainable menstrual products to Black menstruators in Canada and beyond. When one in three young Canadians experiences period poverty, it directly impacts educational outcomes and professional presence.
At HBG, we address this crisis through a comprehensive, climate-conscious approach focused on education, advocacy, and distribution. Providing this access creates a powerful ripple effect: when menstruators have the products they need, school attendance can increase by up to 24% and they can participate fully in the workforce, leading to greater economic stability and community resilience. As a Black-led organization, we commit to providing free, sustainable menstrual products, with a focus on reusable options, to our community.
Our work goes beyond products. We advocate for open, gender-inclusive conversations to reduce stigma and promote equity, ensuring that all Black menstruators—including our gender-diverse community members—have the tools and support they need to manage their cycles confidently and with care.
