Beyond Barriers: Cultivating Black Women’s Success
We are the architects of a future where Black women and gender-diverse individuals lead without apology. Hey Black Girl! is a movement, a sisterhood, and a force for leadership. We don’t just aspire to equity; we build the infrastructure for it.
The stakes are clear: currently, black women in Canada earn just 58.5 cents for every dollar earned by white men. That is not just a wage gap; it is a systemic barrier to generational success. Our programs– like The Fellowship and Project Up– are our active response, designed by and for us to close that gap and ensure our community thrives.

The Fellowship
The Fellowship is a 10-session personal and professional development program curated for Black women. It is a series of workshops, led by Black educators, speakers, or professionals who are experts in their fields. It is the perfect program for people who are eager to learn, share and grow.

          Menstrual Equity
One-third of young Canadians face period poverty. Globally, 500 million people lack access to safe, accessible menstrual products. We have developed multiple initiatives to work against period poverty. As a climate-conscious organization, we are focused on the distribution of free sustainable menstrual products to Black menstruators.
Project Up!
This project aims to serve as a knowledge sharing tool to propel and enhance Black womens entry, stay and success in the educational system. Through this project we will provide culturally-relevant and evidence-informed practices to ensure that Black women face decreased barriers to entry and are better equipped to achieve educational and professional progression.
