Hey Black Girl launched in 2018 by three Black immigrant women to create space for Black women and non-binary folks to lead, speak, heal and be witnessed. We have amplified thousands of leaders across North America and Africa, however Black-led nonprofits get lessthan 0.1% of Canada’s charitable funding. This March Pass the Mic raises $10K for charitable status to change that.
Why Charitable Status Matters
Sustainable funding: Access grants other organizations get 10x easier.
Tax receipts: Your gift goes further.
Stability: Programs expand, never pause.
Only 2% of Canadian charities are Black-led. We are building our own table.
Note: Please write “Hey Black Girl” in notes for tax receipt.
